The Feldenkrais® 15 Day Challenge

Awareness Through Movement® Classes for 15 days
Begins October 8th – 26th, 2018

What would it be like to start every day with a 45 minute Awareness Through Movement® class? One student reported that it “helped me bring my mind and body into a supportive and challenging practice that set me up for a wellness outlook all day long. I moved with more ease and was more mindful of my actions in the process.”

For 15 consecutive weekdays, Monday – Friday, from 7:30 am – 8:15 am, an Awareness Through Movement® class will be offered. This is an excellent opportunity to experience the real power of the Feldenkrais Method® to bring about major changes in our movements and our well-being. Remember we get good at what we practice!

I hope you’ll join me for this powerful practice of the Feldenkrais Method®.

Balance affects our entire lives. When we are physically balanced, we tend to feel more emotionally balanced.  When we experience greater emotional balance, we often feel more balance in our lives, which improves our overall health and well-being. And of course, balance is a dynamic process.  It constantly changes in response to changing circumstances.

Most of the time we don’t have to think about our physical balance.  It’s automatic.  However, if balance problems develop they can profoundly disrupt our daily life. When our nervous system isn’t processing the many signals it receives related to balance, then even the simplest activities can become challenging:  getting up from a chair, bending over to put on shoes, walking down a street or on an uneven surface, washing our hair in the shower, or climbing stairs.

Some of us have been told that balance problems are a natural result of the aging process. In this Awareness Through Movement® Workshop we will use a variety of simple movements that will “wake up” our sensory nervous system, and improve our natural capacity for maintaining balance in everything we do at any age.  We will focus on our feet and other joints, which inform us about the surface we are standing on.  We’ll focus on our eyes, which orient us and tell us if the environment around us is moving or still.  And we’ll engage our inner ears to tell us how we are positioned in space-how we are upright, leaning, or standing still.
